Setup / Administration¶
Theme¶
The branding elements of ExoSense can be configured using the 'Theme' tab.
Theme Colors¶
Allows for changing the Primary, Secondary, and Accent color for the header and a few other graphical elements in the application.
Logo¶
An image that shows up on the top of the left-hand navigation menu and on the log-in screen.
Image File Recommendations:
- Dimensions: 270x108 pixels
- Type: .jpg, .png
- Use a transparent background with a light text
- File size: 100 KB
- Note: Files that are different dimensions will be distorted
Favicon¶
This is used for the browser tab icon and also used at the top of the side navigation menu when it is collapsed.
Image File Recommendations:
- Dimensions: 64x64 pixels
- Type: .jpg, .png
- Should be a square image
- File size: 30 KB
- Note: Files that are different dimensions will be distorted
Deployment Name¶
Used in the browser tab and in places such as emails - essentially the name of your product.
Default Landing Page¶
Administrators can decide what the default page is when a user logs in. Typically is one of the Browse Views (Group, List, Map), but administrators may choose other options. End users can set their default landing page in their account preferences.
Support URL¶
This will add a link called 'Support Docs' to the site in the user menu.
Asset and Device Icons¶
ExoSense uses icons for assets and devices anywhere there are lists or tables of these items. Knowing that there are very different types of assets being used, administrators can set the default icons used for assets and also for devices.
*Note: When creating or editing an asset, a different icon can be selected used.
User Roles¶
Administrators can created and edit user roles. Roles define functionality rights to a user. The default role for initial users is 'Host Administrator' which provides all functionality including the ability to assign new devices to a group.
Administrators (those with the Setup-Roles function enabled) can create new roles such as 'Installer'.
Role Functionality¶
Function | Description |

User Management | User can access the Users screen and add, edit, and remove users. |
Asset Management | User can add, edit, and remove assets. |
View Asset Data | User can view an asset’s dashboard data and can run reports to export data. |
Group Management | User can access the Browse screen and add, edit, and remove groups, as well as change an asset’s group assignment. |
View Asset | User can access the Browse screen with no add, edit, or remove capabilities. |
Dashboard Management | User can add, edit, or remove dashboards, including their dashboard tabs and configured panels. |
Legal | User can access and edit the Setup > Legal screen. |
Setup - Theme | User can access and edit the Setup > Theme screen. |
Setup - Roles | Setup - Roles: User can access and edit the Setup > Roles screen. |
Device Management | Users can look at devices in a group, configure the channels. |
Creating / Editing User Roles¶
In this example, a new user role called 'Installer Midwest Region' can be created to view asset data and can manage Asset configuration and optionally be assigned to only be accessible at a sub group node and below.
Navigation¶
The side navigation can be edited by administrators when the order and the names of the menu items do not match application needs or end-user nomenclature. This can be done on the Setup page under the 'Navigation' tab. Editing the text here will instantly change the menu text. Dragging the order will take effect after hitting 'Save'.

Terms & Conditions¶
ExoSense has default Terms & Conditions which can be found on the Log-in page. These can be modified.
Privacy Policy¶
The privacy policy URL is provided, once set, will show up on the log-in page.
